The Rooms

The rooms at Charlton House Hotel range from cosy doubles, deluxe doubles to grand suites! Each room is designed beautifully and absolutely crammed with character and luxury. The beds are huge comfier than any I’ve ever tried, so getting a good nights sleep is guaranteed! The designs of the room really fit in with the hotel style, keeping it’s traditional country style but with a touch of luxury. The deluxe double room (photographed) is very spacious and has a gorgeous view of the hotel’s garden; which is perfect in the summer! This stunning hotel also offers a garden lodge room, so you are separate ate from the main hotel building, and can enjoy secluded luxury…

The Spa

The Spa at Charlton House Hotel was the perfect addition to our stay. I’d even visit just to use the spa if I couldn’t stay the night! Featured in the spa is an indoor pool with Jacuzzi features around the edges. The pool even has a little window that you can go through, which will lead you to the outside portion of the pool! Also in the outside area is a seperate square Jacuzzi pool with seating all around which is a great alternative to the inside facilities when it is warm and sunny outside! The spa also offers a huge range of treatments, from massages to take the stress away, to facial treatments and nail appointments. The staff are faultless in the spa area, and take so much care to make your experience perfect in every way! We both enjoyed a Swedish back, neck and shoulder massage during our stay, which was the perfect way to unwind…

What I loved about the spa: This spa is beautifully designed and every detail is taken care of to make you feel relaxed and in pure luxury. I loved that it includes facilities both inside AND outside; so you can enjoy no matter the weather!

The Restaurant

The restaurant in Charlton House Hotel is bright and airy, and located in a conservatory style room. The tables were set beautifully, with candles and flowers, and if you can get a table by the window, the atmosphere is lovely. The service in the restaurant is very professional and the food was spectacular. With a range of high quality food, the menu also offers great choices for vegetarians and gluten-free guests. The food is such high quality, and no one skimps on presentation of the meals. The bread was fresh and still warm from the oven; it was some of the best bread we have ever tried.

What to order: For the mains, we really enjoyed the Salmon and Veg, as well as Pork Belly with Dauphinoise potatoes. For pudding, if you have a sweet tooth, try the Sticky Toffee Pudding, its delicious! If not, the cheese board is the perfect savoury dessert, and there is lots of it to try!

The Breakfast

The breakfast is included when you book a stay at Charlton House Hotel, and is absolutely delicious. There is a Buffett to help yourself from, with juices, fruit, breads and more, but you can order a cooked breakfast from the menu as well. Staff will serve you teas and coffee, and there are plenty of gluten-free options as well as vegetarian.

What to order: We both opted for a full English breakfast, and I helped myself to some fruit and yoghurt, which was beautifully cooked and refreshening. The full English breakfast came with a sausage, bacon, egg, tomato, mushroom, bubble ‘n’ squeak and black pudding.
