On the hunt for a London hotel that caters for your every need? That is less than a 5min walk from Westfield shopping centre? That has a stunning spa that would can unwind in? Thank me later, as I’ve found the perfect hotel that ticks all these boxes, and more!
The K West Hotel and Spa
After tackling the trains and stopping for a greasy burger, we finally arrived at Shepard’s Bush station (West London) and quickly found our hotel which was literally a 2 minute walk – perfect! First impressions were great and we couldn’t wait to see our room. The staff at reception were more than helpful and quickly checked us in and gave us all the info we needed (most importantly – the spa details!!). We stayed on the 5th floor in an Executive Suite which I would highly recommend upgrading to – as you’ll see from the photos it’s bloody beautiful?!
This is why I loved the Hotel:
- Beautiful Spa including: sauna, sanatarium, steam room, foot spa, ice room, pool with jets, showers.
- Brilliant Location (especially for shoppers) – 5 minute walk from Westfield shopping centre. 10 minute tube ride into Central London. 2 minute walk from Shepard’s Bush tube station.
- Outstanding Afternoon Tea
- Luxury, high-tech, spacious rooms
The Spa
Lets talk about the spa. When you go down to the bottom floor where the spa is located (on the floor above you’ll find the gym and fitness facilities), you’ll have to sign in so they know you’re there – if it’s not already included you’ll have to pay an extra £20 each for spa use for the day – but trust me it’s worth it! We came to the hotel with a small suitcase for the two of us and honestly – we could have fitted everything we needed in our pockets! The hotel and spa provide EVERYTHING. Once signed in they give you robes and flip flops, with the huge lockers provided in the changing rooms you’ll find fresh towels, and the best bit… they provide all your shower essentials (shower gel, shampoo and conditioner), they even had GHD hair straighteners and proper hair dryers instead of those useless ones you often get in a hotel. From there you go into the spa where the relaxing begins straight away! We grabbed ourselves a booth to use and chill out in, before heading to the steam room and then sauna. They also had a sanarium which I hadn’t heard of before this day – which is a mix of a sauna and steam room in one, giving you the best of both worlds! We then took a plunge into the pool and it was seconds before we put the Jacuzzi on, aaaaand relax. Feeling well and truly ‘chilled out’ we went back to the booth where I fell asleep (oops) for a good hour and woke up feeling stress free and happy. Another thing we loved in the spa was the ‘foot spa’ where we would chat and dip our feet into the water bowls – perfect! Oh, I almost forgot the ‘ice room’ and it literally is an ice room, it transports you to Antartica and makes you feel like you’re visiting an igloo – unfortunately I don’t do cold. So, after my much needed nap up we got to do it all over again before heading back to get ourselves showered and ready for our ‘glam rock afternoon tea’.
Glam Rock Afternoon Tea
After our relaxing spa day, we rushed back to the restaurant for a ‘glam rock afternoon tea’ and it was bliss! The menu was served on a record player – and the placemats are designed as records! We started off with TeaRex tea which was delish – I don’t usually opt for specialty teas but after trying this one, I just want to try them all! We then ordered more tea (duh) and soon our sandwiches arrived which included, beetroot and salmon, blue cheese and grapes, ham, brie and apple, and my faveeeee which was avocado and crab. They were amazing and each served with a specialty bread – yum! We were then presented with the most incredible ‘pudding platter’ as I called it – with red velvet bombs, chocolate shakes, banana ‘spiked’ with rum, tapioca coconut pud and last but not least – prosecco jelly?! As if we were not full enough – they then brought over a selection of scones, traditional AND lemon and rosemary! Thats it – I’m not moving for a week.
