Many of us love a good walk, and I know for so many who didn’t love it before, do now thanks to the lockdowns we’ve had. Scroll below to find ten beautiful walks in Kent, some may even be on your doorstep.
Capstone Country Park
Capstone Country Park is a beautiful area filled with countryside views, and little forests overrun with squirrels. The main car park is next to a small lake, children’s play park and coffee shop. There is another car park called Orchard Land car park, that is filled with blossoms in the Spring – so beautiful!
Sandgate Beach to Folkstone Harbour
Park up at Sandgate Beach, and walk along the seafront all the way to Folkestone Harbour, the walk is about 2 miles each way, and filled with beauty views all the way along. Stop at either Sandgate High Street for a coffee or find one of many lovely spots in Folkestone too.
Knole Park
Knole Park is my absolute happy place, you can walk for hours around the park and spot some deer along the way. Please do not approach the deer, as they must remain as wild animals, and not rely on humans for food. There is a small coffee shop inside the park, or head out to Sevenoaks town centre for huge range of restaurants and shops.
Wye Downs
Wye Downs is home to come gorgeous countryside views and rolling hills. This is a beautiful walk where you can catch the most amazing sunsets too. There are a couple small car parks at the top of the hill.
Whitstable Beach Front
Whitstable is a stunning pebble beach with lotsa of coffee shops and restaurants too. Walk along the beach front and if you’re feeling adventurous, then you could even walk all the way to Herne Bay, which is about 5 miles each way. Whitstable is also the best place to catch dramatic sunsets!
Mote Park
Mote Park is a beautiful park in Maidstone, with a lake, coffee shop, and so many things for the kids to do, from a newly renovated children’s play area, to mini golf and rock climbing too. There is also a leisure centre and gym on site!
Haysden Country Park
Haysden Country Park is home to beautiful lakes, nature trails, water-sports and fishing. Get lost in nature and grab a coffee at the park too.
Bodium Castle to The Boating Station
Bodium Castle is part of the National Trust, and makes a great spot for a picnic, a walk and exploring the castle. Walk from the Castle to The Boating Station for a beautiful countryside walk, and then relax on a boat ride down the river. This walk is about 5 miles each way.
Teston Bridge Country Park
Teston Bridge Country Park is a beautiful area where you can stroll along the river, and have a picnic or BBQ on the green. The bridge makes a good spot for photos too!
Bewl Water
Bewl Water is a stunning reservoir with beautiful lake views and lots of water sports too! The walk around the lake is about 13 miles, and you’re advised to free up 6 hours of walking time, or you can hire a bike at the centre too!
