Do you live in Kent? Or visiting? Maybe you’re exploring the ‘Garden of England’ and fancy that much-needed coffee top-up. Once again – I’ve got you covered. So read on to find the best places to sit and enjoy a coffee (and maybe even cake ~eek~) in Kent!
The Curious Eatery – Boughton Monchelsea.
Located in the small village of Boughton Monchelsea, close to Maidstone in Kent, this rustic style restaurant is open from Tuesday-Sunday and is packed with delicious homemade cakes and that much-needed coffee! Breakfast is served on a Friday and Saturday, and the lunch/dinner menu is to die for – it even includes gluten-free options – yay! I cannot leave this place without first having a mocha (mix of coffee and chocolate) and a slice of cake (I can personally recommend the carrot cake, and the chocolate fudge cake hmmmm)

The Deaf Cat Coffee – Rochester.
The Deaf Cat Coffee shop is a sweet little cafe on Rochester high street and makes the best flat white!! They also serve cake, cookies, sandwiches and many other delicious snacks. We ordered a flat white, and a hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows – oh and guess who also got a cookie?!

The Rochester Coffee Co. – Rochester.
Located on the high street in Rochester in Medway, the ‘Rochester Coffee Co’ shop is the perfect place to stop for a much-needed coffee top-up. When we visited it was very sunny outside, so we sat on a table at the shop front, and I (as usual) had a mocha, Lewis went all out and had a hot chocolate with EVERYTHING on top, and we shared some Lemon Cheesecake (dreamy).

Arthur’s – Cranbrook.
Let’s talk about Arthur’s! I absolutely loved Arthur’s coffee shop in Cranbrook, Kent. The dog-friendly cafe is the perfect place to stop for a coffee and snack/lunch. I ordered a latte, and my gorgeous friend ordered a hot chocolate, it was freezing (and snowing) outside and this was the perfect treat!

Frankie’s Farmshop – Staplehurst.
Just down the road from Staplehurst village, Frankie’s Farmshop is a very popular (you’ll see why) cafe, farm shop and small garden centre. Whenever we go to Frankie’s, I always get a mocha, I know I seem to get mochas everywhere I go, but at Frankie’s they are soooo good. We also had chocolate fudge cake which was rich and dreamy. What I love about Frankie’s is, they always have a table in the cafe full of sweet little gifts and homeware and you can always guarantee to find some gorgeous pieces. There is a small farm shop with jams and jellies, and fresh fruit and veg. I love the open kitchen in this cafe, so you can actually see your food being made – it makes the place so unique.

Esquires Coffee – Maidstone.
If you’re wandering around Maidstone Town Centre doing a bit of shopping, or maybe you’re on your lunch break, Esquires Coffee is the perfect pit-stop. It is filled with pretty decor and every table’s surrounding is unique, the staff are so friendly and welcoming too! I had a white chocolate mocha (I know it sounds good, and its 100x better than it sounds) and my friend had a hot chocolate which she loved. We felt right at home in no time and decided to order some food, I had smashed avocado on toast with poached eggs and it was delicious, my friend had a sausage baguette.

As you enter, dont forget to look around at all the beautiful unique gifts and homeware in the front of the shop, which is vibrant and colourful! Walk through to the cafe at the back, which has cosy sofas and tables, and freshly made cakes which you cannot resist! The coffee was delicious and just perfect when rushing in from the freezing weather outside, oh and a slice of lemon cake won’t hurt!

The Bow Window in Lenham is a fairly new cafe, with lots of friendly faces. I love how casual it is there, you can sit up at a table or get cosy on the sofa! We loved the place so much we ended up having breakfast too – the eggs royale was soooo scrummy, just uploading our photos is making us want to go back! We sat in here for hours and didn’t want to leave as it was so cosy and snug – a perfect escape from the rain outside.

Otto’s Coffee House and Kitchen – Sevenoaks.
You HAVE to try Otto’s! It’s the perfect spot if you’re strolling around Sevenoaks, especially as it’s just opposite the beautiful National Trust park, Knole Park. Otto’s appears small at first glance but as you wander around, they have more and more seating as you venture upstairs. I tried the mocha and it was delicious, and Lewis had an iced latte. Oh, we may have also shared a salted caramel brownie which was to die for… you cannot visit without trying it!

The Coffee Corner – Headcorn.
On an adventurous drive around Kent, we found ourselves stopped in Headcorn and in much need of a coffee. We found Coffee Corner and immediately decided to sit and enjoy a coffee and snack rather than grabbing a quick take-away for the road. Open from Monday to Saturday, this sweet little cafe is the perfect place for that must have coffee and cake, or even a tasty lunch. We both ordered a mocha, and shared a malteaser brownie cake, which was delicious!

The Judges Bakery – Tenterden.
The Judges bakery is a tiny little cafe from the outside, but as you take a stroll inside, you find a gorgeous counter filled with goodies, and warm welcoming faces. We ordered at the counter and then found a table in their cosy back room which was set out to make you feel right at home with fresh flowers and up-to-date newspapers. We ordered a latte, hot chocolate and a hugeeee slice of red velvet cake to share (I say to share but, you know). The hot chocolate was thick and creamy, and the latte was frothy.. ah perfect.

What’s up Cupcake? – Whitstable.
When strolling through Whitstable, we stumbled across a cute little cake shop, ‘What’s up Cupcake?’ and were immediately interested (probably due to the mouth-watering cakes displayed in the window). We were only going to pop in and grab a couple of cupcakes to go, but realised we could sit and enjoy them with a hot coffee too – perfect! I cannot fault this place, the coffee was lovely, and the cakes were out of this world! Can I go back now?
