The nature and countryside is breathtaking
There are countless forests, national parks and nature reserves in Slovenia, so whichever area you’re staying in, you’re guaranteed a decent dose of nature. Even as you first arrive in Ljubljana Airport, you’ll soon see that you are surrounded by beautiful mountains and trees, and the excitement begins. Lake Bled, located in the North Western section of Slovenia is a great example of the beautiful nature in Slovenia. The island in the middle of the lake had been formed completely by nature and is just under an acre in size. Not too far from Bled, is an incredible 1.6km gorge which you cannot leave Slovenia without visiting. The walk will consist of constant photo taking and excitement, as the views are spectacular and end with a huge waterfall. Some other popular nature sites to visit in Slovenia include:
- Lake Bohinj.
- Postojna Cave.
- Soca Valley.
- Kozjak Waterfalls.
- Sabotin.
- Logar Valley.

Ljubljana, the capital city of Slovenia is filled with beautiful architecture, cute cafes and historic sites. Located in the centre of Slovenia, it makes the perfect place to base your travels around this wonderful country. There is plenty of parking within the city, so that’s one less thing to worry about if you’ve hired car. If not, there are lots of public transport options, which are all really affordable. The city is maintained really well, and you can see how much people care about their surroundings by the way that they care for it. As you walk around the city centre, you will come across so many restaurants, cafes and bars and just want to try out every single one. There are some things you HAVE to tick off of the checklist during your visit to Slovenia’s capital city, a few of which are:

The People are so friendly
The people in Slovenia were some of the friendliest people I have ever met. They did more than just put on a smile and wave. They genuinely want to know what you’ve been up to and how your day has been. They want to recommend so many lovely things for you to do. They have a laugh with you & talk to you as if they’ve known you for years. As if the country wasn’t already amazing enough, the people were just genuinely so lovely and I really admire that.
