If you’re spending time in Wörthersee, Austria, then you’ll already know that this is one of the most picturesque places in the country. It’s beautiful landscapes will have you forever snapping photos and wandering through every street, but if you’re looking for something exciting to do, I’ve found just the thing.

Pyramidenkogel Tower
The Pyramidenkogel Tower is an amazing structure in Austria, by Wörthersee lake. It was reconstructed in 2013, and is the highest wooden viewing tower in the world. Although the tower stands at 100 meters high, it is actually 851 meters above sea level, giving you the most amazing views over the area. You can see for miles and there are also plenty of activities you can do on the tower such as the slide, zip wore and abseiling. You can drive to the tower, and there is a car park on site, or you can get the bus during peak season. You can also hike to the tower by taking path 27 which starts from Keutschach Castle, this takes around an hour and a head each way.
This incredible tower stands 100 meters tall with observation decks from 64 to 71 meters high. The tower is the best way to see the beautiful lake and offers a stunning 360-degree views. You can walk up the 441 steps to get this incredible view or you can take the lift, either way, you will end up at with beautiful views of the area – an activity you cannot miss! You can get the lift back down or take the slide! From the 52 meters up you can take the slide down to the bottom, reaching speeds of up to 25km per hour – the perfect way to get an adrenaline rush. Admission is 14 Euros for an adult, or 6.5 Euros for a child (under 15). Use of the slide is an extra 4 Euros per person.
