Go Punting in Canterbury
Canterbury is a beautiful town to explore, especially in the summer when flowers are blooming and you don’t have to run from the rain! Punting in Canterbury is a must – it’s much more affordable than punting in many other places, and makes a really lovely day out.
Have a Picnic on the Beach
Picnics anywhere are a must, but a beach picnic just seems a million times better in the summer. My favourite beaches to picnic on are sandy ones, they’re an awful lot comfier to sit on than pebble beaches!! I know it isn’t technically Kent, but just outside of Kent is my favourite beach in the area, Camber Sands. Camber tends to get pretty busy, so I like to find a spot high up in the dunes, so there is a bit of privacy, but also an amazing view of the whole beach.
Visit a National Trust Site or Castle
There are so many National Trust sites in Kent, and other historic sites that aren’t owned by the National Trust. My go-to sites are Scotney Castle, Leeds Castle, Seven Sisters and Bodium Castle.
Spend a Night Away
There are plenty of gorgeous Hotels and Airbnbs in Kent, for that much needed getaway!
Grab an Afternoon Tea
There are countless places to enjoy a very British Afternoon Tea in Kent, and given that this is a summer list, I would choose somewhere outdoors too! My current favourite spots for an Afternoon Tea include The Secret Garden, The Chilston Park Hotel and The Cobbles Tearoom.
Have an amazing Summer & leave any more suggestions in the box below!
